Jacques Lacoste was keen to settle in this bustling area, while maintaining his original gallery located on the Left bank at 12 rue de Seine in the Saint-Germain-des-Pr\u00e8s area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new venue, consisting of 500-square-metres of showroom on three levels, includes the \u00ab\u00a0Period rooms\u00a0\u00bb and temporary exhbitions, keeping in tune with the approach developed by Jacques Lacoste over the years at the gallery\u2019s booths at major fairs, such as the paris Biennale, PAD Paris, PAD London or Design Miami\/Basel. These international fairswere the perfect opportunity to unveil exceptional items such as the <em>Chambres \u00e0 Livres <\/em>and other furniture designed by Diego Giacometti for Marc Barbezat\u2026, an extraordinay tables together with a set of Art Nouveau pieces by Hector Guimard\u2026, a rare 1920s set by S\u00fce and Mare\u2026 as well as 1930s Modernist furniture\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This contextualised approach enables viewers to see coherent sets of furniture and decorative objects. It thus contributes to the illustration of important periods in decorative arts history, from the early days of Art Nouveau to the 1950s-60s, exemplified by iconic pieces by some of the greatest names of the 20th century.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Galerie Jacques Lacoste established its identity through the works of Jean Roy\u00e8re\u00a0: the gallery currently has part of his archives and has contributed greatly to the rekindling of interest in the designer, alongside other prominent talents, such as Max Ingrand, Alexandre Noll and Serge Mouille.
