On the occasion of its participation at Design Miami/Basel 2017, Galerie Jacques Lacoste honoured an ensemble by Jean Royère, a major creater of the 20th century Decorative Arts. Jacques Lacoste thus continued his commitment and study on the work of Jean Royère, a creator he defends and whos archives he acquired 20 years ago. This same year, Jacques Lacoste exhibited a major piece in Jean Royère’s, a Liane coathanger.
The Liane coathanger was created by Jean Royère around 1966 for the country house of one of his clients, whose parisian apartment he had decorated : it reveals Royère’s mastery of free forms, inspired by nature and his creative spirit which had characterised his work of the 60s.
